Dr. Kathryn Touran grew up near a small town, roaming the woods and lakes of northern Michigan. There, she developed a strong connection with nature and a deep love for animals.

She earned her BS degree in Zoology at the University of Washington in Seattle. It was during this time that she discovered and fell in love with the Oregon Coast, and always knew she would return.

With an opportunity to live in the Caribbean, she traveled to Ross University for veterinary school. The unique challenges of living, studying, and caring for patients on an island with limited resources were a significant part of her education. She completed her clinical year at Colorado State University, graduating with her DVM in 2009. After working ER for a few years, Dr. Touran moved to a small animal hospital in Fort Collins, CO, where she honed her skills and developed a strong affinity for surgery and dentistry. She finally followed her heart to the Oregon Coast, and moved to the area in 2026 where she joined Town and Country Animal Clinic.

Professionally, Dr. Touran has a special interest in soft tissue surgery and dentistry, anesthesiology/pain management, and geriatric care. She also has a soft spot for wildlife, and volunteers her time with various organizations to help the wild ones.

Outside of work, she spends most of her time with her dogs, and has been an avid runner since her days running for UW. She adores the water, and spends as much time as possible surfing, kayaking, river rafting, and just walking on the beach.
