Dr. Chelsea gained a new appreciation for animal behavior while working as an adoption counselor for the MSPCA, where she realized that oftentimes aggression arises out of fear, rather than being innate to each dog or cat. Learning fear-free techniques throughout her time at veterinary school showed her that an animal’s experience can be changed for the better, and even be made positive when going to see the vet. Dr. Chelsea has seen success with these methods, again and again, when patience and gentle handling (and maybe a lick of cheese wiz) are prioritized during an exam or procedure. During the busy day-to-day at the clinic, she strives to incorporate a fear-free approach into every animal interaction, giving every pet a positive experience.
